Today was a long day. I went to the mall to buy gifts for family, hit the grocery store to buy food for Christmas dinner, and watched the Ravens get punished by the Texans. And even though it's pretty late, I couldn't let the day go by without wishing my blog, Scandalous Beauty, a happy 9th birthday! Here are some shots of my blog layouts through the years. Some were decent, most were pretty bad. I've easily had 20 different layouts. If you're interested, here's my first blog post (written on the 21st, published on the 23rd).
I'm not gonna get sappy, but this labor of love has changed my life. Seriously. It introduced me to my favorite makeup artists, gave me the opportunity to travel and it allowed me to connect with people all over the world. I've worked with a lot of brands that I'm a fan of, and found new ones along the way. More than anything, it gave me an outlet to share my love of beauty.
I can't thank you enough for your support. I've had to question myself a lot over my blog. Is this what I want? How can I be better? Will people dislike me if I post this? There was lots of fear and lots of doubt. Sometimes, there still is. But 2015 isn't only the year SB turns 10. It's the year that I turn 30. I have had to have some "Come to Jesus moments" with myself, and to make sure that I don't take SB for granted--and to make sure that I gave it some real effort. Serious effort, not half-ass whenever I get to it effort. But you know what? Eff that. I promise to be bigger, bolder and unapologetic in the years to come.
Over the next few months, I'm going to be trying some new things with SB. I have a new family, new home and a new life that I'd like to incorporate into the mix. If it works, it works. If not, I'll scrap it. Thank you all for the support over the years. The ups and downs have been a lesson and a pleasure.
