I don't have the largest Nars lipstick collection, but I'm happy with what I've got. I'm not totally sure when my interest peaked for the brand, but I've realized that my little stash has been a really great go-to for me for awhile. Even though I have a million MAC and Wet 'N Wild lipsticks, I tend to always reach for Nars first.
Let's take a look at the colors individually, shall we?
Funny Face is a semi-matte pink that I purchased a long time ago, it's bright and bold and really gave the face some oomph. Greta and Carmen were Christmas presents from the new Audacious line ($32), which are really, really freaking fantastic. It's a lipstick line that's super pigmented with only one swipe, moisturizing, and feels like you're wearing nothing. I mean really!
413 BLKR (semi matte) and Afghan Red (satin) are the lipsticks I use the least. They're nice colors, but I have others that I like more. Scarlet Empress (semi matte) and Honolulu Honey (satin), however, are my ultimate go to lip colors. When I need the perfect neutral lip, I wear Honolulu Honey. I typically wear it with Giza lipgloss. When I need a bold lip that's not too red, I go for Scarlet Empress. I recommend them to people all the time!
I actually model Honolulu Honey, Giza and Scarlet Empress in this video:
It makes me really, really sad to type the words "Fall 2014". We're smack dab in the middle of July and I'm loving every freakin' second of this heat! But when Nars makes products like this, you just have to share. Sometimes, boring black eye liner just isn't the way to go. And sometimes, you just don't feel like wearing eye shadow.
Night Porter ($24, black with green pearl) // Night Bird ($24, black with purple pearl)
These liners are super silky smooth. They barely have to graze your skin to show up! I'm going to be honest--when products have a texture like this, I don't expect them to last very long. But these are different. Really different. I swiped them on my hand, did a quick rub, and they didn't budge. They aren't water-resistant though, they came off easily with a little makeup remover.
These pencils will be available (along with the entire Fall 2014 collection) on July 15th at Nars Boutiques Narscosmetics.com. You'll be able to find them in Sephora and other locations on August 1st.
I usually avoid posting a lot about Fashion Week, because I really don't think most people care. More than that, we're a "I want it now" society, not "I want it 6 months from now". But hey, when in Rome..
More than anything, I'm just excited to have a Black girl to show! These images are few and far between!
