Top 5 Must Have Products from Becca Cosmetics by Erin Baynham

This post contains affiliate links. Becca's recent resurgence as a makeup authority definitely warrants an updated must have list! Let's keep it real, Becca is one of the pricier lines in Sephora (and now it can be found in Ulta, Lord & Taylor and other retailers), with a few products hitting the $40+ mark. I've been a big fan of the brand years ago, and here's what I think you should try. I wrote a must have post in 2009, but Becca has changed so much, it was time to make a new one! Here are the best products Becca makes, in my humble opinion.

Top Best Becca Cosmetics Products

Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured • $38 / BECCA Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme • $44 / BECCA Ultimate Coverage Concealing Creme • $32 / BECCA Ultimate Colour Gloss • $24 / Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector • $41 / BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed • $38

Ultimate Coverage Concealing Creme

This ultra creamy, opaque concealer is packed with pigment. It's one of the most sturdy, long lasting concealers I've ever owned. I usually apply this with my finger, but because of how rich this is, I like to blend with a sponge. I wear the color Treacle.

Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme

Matte, creamy, perfection. I only like to use this foundation during the cooler months because it's definitely a thicker foundation and gives a more "pronounced" look. Either way, the look is insanely polished and basically undetectable. I wear the color Sienna in this foundation, but in most other Becca foundations, I wear Mink.

Check out my video review of these two products here (and be sure to subscribe to my channel on Youtube!):

Shimmering Skin Perfector (liquid, powder & cream)

I tried to make this one product choice, but it comes in three formulas, and I love all three equally. Slowly but surely, Becca is becoming a giant because of their shimmery goods.

Original (liquid)- I like to mix this in with my moisturizer, or I apply it over my moisturizer. Pressed (powder)- I use a soft, fluffy brush for this. The color is really intense, so use a light hand. Poured (cream)- I usually apply this with my fingers over my liquid or cream foundation.

Because I'm a brown girl, of course I went straight for bronzy and beautiful Topaz first. I own it in all three formulas, and I use it often. Here's a photo I shared from TrendMood on my Instagram page, you can see all of the permanent and one of the limited edition powder shades. I bought Blushed Copper, shown below, as well. There's also Champagne Pop by Jacalyn Hill, which was a huge deal. Everyone loved it, and I almost bought it too. However, I really, really don't need more highlighters and this one was so light that I'd rarely use it.

Ultimate Color Gloss

Pure color. Velvety texture. Non-sticky. There aren't that many shades, so it's easy to narrow down a few. When in doubt, go with Palm Breeze or Pink Lotus.

I can go on and on about the products that I've been going crazy over for the brand (Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector, mineral powder, mineral blush) but I'm trying as hard as I can to narrow the list down! If you have any Becca products that you love, leave a comment and share below!

Nine Powders, Creams and Primers To Help You Keep Your Bronzy Summer Glow by Erin Baynham

I hate when we get to that time of year where the focus is on Fall instead of Summer! I'm a hot, sunny day girl, all the way! Since we love to be outside and get those free bronzy glows, I've got a list of products that will keep you glowing year round. This is just a roundup for now, but I've got swatches to come! glow_liquid

Liquids

Maybe I should have saved the best for last, but these are definitely the best bang for your buck! They are more concentrated and give you the glowing effect instantly. I use these almost everyday.

Japonesque Color Liquid Light in Bronze - Here's a product that gives you the bronze glow without looking too obvious!

Make Up For Ever Uplight in Bronze - This is actually a gel product, and it's got a fair amount of glitter in it. If you're going to use it, only do a little at a time.

Koh Gen D Illuminator in Beige - This is a much lighter shade, but the microfine sheen is irreplacable. Again, I found this product after taking a class with celebrity makeup artist Sheika Daley. I couldn't believe what it did to the skin! [ See swatch and review here]

Primers

Primers are the most subtle way to add a glow to your skin. These products barely had enough pigment to show on camera, but you can see it more on bare skin.

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiant Bronze - Laura Mercier makes a lightweight lotion-y primer that melts into the skin.

Becca Cosmetics Bronzing Skin Perfector - Super lightweight, almost undetectable.

Smashbox 'Photo Finish' Luminizing Foundation Primer - This gives the slightest golden glow under makeup. If anything, get it for the texture. Your makeup will glide on effortlessly!

Glowing Powders Powders

These are the most practical, and probably the most common way to add a glow to the skin. You can brush it on with or without foundation, and you can also use them to easily highlight and contour.

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish - A cult favorite! It adds sheen and a bunch of color at the same time. You can use it wet or dry, and it comes in a million limited edition colors. If you see one that you like, don't hesitate, just get it! Metal Rock will always be my favorite--RIP.

Cover Girl Bronzer in Ebony Bronze - A fan favorite. I'll say it over and over again--it's the perfect brown girl bronzer. And for less than$10, how can you beat that? [See swatch and review here]

Shea Moisture Illuminating Powder - Ah, a newbie! These products are available exclusively at Target. You'll get a light, but buildable glow with this one.

Becca's New Foundation is Full Coverage, Lightweight Perfection by Erin Baynham

Ultimate Coverage Complexion Creme Review

Most people know I love Becca Cosmetics. So when I found out that they came out with yet ANOTHER foundation, I had to own it. Becca's Ultimate Coverage Complexion Crème ($44) is a game changer. Becca says:

Ideal for any skin type, this formula contains a balance of 21 percent pure pigment and 22 percent water, which work in synergy to completely conceal imperfections, redness, hyperpigmentation, and uneven texture in a weightless cream.

  • For a beautifully seamless application, ensure that your face is well hydrated and allow your moisturizer or primer to fully absorb into the skin before applying the crème.
  • This foundation is designed to be used with a brush.
  • The average foundation formula usually contains 10 to 15 percent pigment and 5 to 10 percent water, whereas this product contains 21 percent pure pigment and 22 percent water.
  • Free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, alcohol and fragrance.

So I tried it on with a skunk brush and wore it around. My dark marks were covered and I wasn't super shiny. The craziest part is that I forgot I had foundation on. It's SO lightweight that you can barely feel it. I would even venture to say that tinted moisturizers aren't this light. I dare you to head on over to foundation and try it out. It's worth the trip, I promise.
