Preview: MAC Mineralize Foundation

For years, MAC was always my first choice for foundations.  Studio Fix (Powder and Fluid), Studio Tech and Studio Stick were always my go-to’s.  I couldn’t get with Mineralize Satinfinish (way too glowy) or Studio Sculpt (broke me out horribly).  And now, the lineup grows.  Introducing MAC Mineralize Foundation.  My good friend Niki who works for MAC tells me it’s as if Studio Tech and Moistureblend had a love child. Now if that isn’t sexy, I don’t know what is!

So, what does this mean for you?  You’ll get a super creamy, absolutely flawless, medium to full coverage foundation with SPF 15. If you want the airbrushed look without the inconvenience of an airbrush machine, cream foundation is almost always the way to go. Also, if you have dry skin, this is where you need to be!  I haven’t personally tried this foundation yet, but remember to set it well with powder.  As much as I LOVE Studio Tech, it will almost jump off of your face onto any nearby surface.  I’m hoping this won’t do the same.

Mineralize foundation comes in 23 colors, and is available for $32.00 in February, 2010.

I was initially very upset with MAC for discontinuing the MoistureBlend, but after awhile the excitement began to sink in. I loved loved loved my MoistureBlend, I hope this mineralized stuff make me as happy. I think if they had given out a few free samples most of us would not have been as concerned.

I can’t wait to try this product. I’ve had such issues with all MAC’s foundations but since I’m a true MAC Head I won’t quit until I find one MAC foundation that works for me. I hope this is the ONE! Does anyone know when it can be purchased online? I found out that it would be in the MAC stores on 2/18. Sometimes MAC will have on the website before it’s launched in the stores.

    Kizzy,
It’s not really as shimmery as the Satinfinish foundation. Plus, it’s a little thicker. I tried it yesterday and I really like the consistency!!!

I am not happy with this product at all. It is in no way comparable to the MoistureBlend. I have extremely dry skin & MB kicked its ass but this new Mineralized was like apply a liquid. On top of that I am allergic. I have the kind of skin that when i find a product I can’t deviate because I have soooo many allergies. Dont get me wrong I will jump out & try stuff mainly beacuse Im bored or loved the color of something and most of the time I pay for it like you wouldnt beleive. Now I already know I my lids can not handle concealer or foundationon them what did I do applied the New Minerlized foundation on them, daahhhhh. So I sit here looking like Ive been stung by bumble bees, lol. HEY NO PAIN NO GAIN, RITE?

This works fine for comboination oily skin. I know this because the man that used it on my face picked it out after asking my skin type. This works AWESOME, feels creamy, mousturizing, and covers great.

But can someone tell me, how do I set this? It transfers a little.
