My Revamped Beauty Blog Business Cards + 5 Reasons You Shouldn't Miss BlogWorld NYC / by Erin Baynham

Scandalous Beauty Blog Business Cards (Before the Makeover) It's conference season! If you're a blogger, this is the perfect time for you to learn from others.

Since I'll be speaking and attending several conferences this Summer, it was time for me to revamp my business cards. If you remember, I did a post on business cards during the 30 Day Blog Challenge.

I bought my cards from my favorite shop, Moo! I can't stress how much I adore the quality of these cards. Once you feel the coating, you can tell that these were made by a higher end printer. I've purchased from other places like Uprinting and Vistaprint, and their cards are pretty basic. You'll definitely get a lot more cards for the price there, however, there's no real wow factor.

I made my cards from scratch using Pixelmator and Photoshop. However, Moo offers a slew of templates that you can insert your information into.

When creating the cards, I thought about the lazy reader (I'm the prototype). The one who doesn't always want go to your blog and search for your social media usernames. Give them to me on the card, so I can look you up when I feel like it. This go 'round, I wanted to be more clear about what my blog was about, and who the author was. I made sure to add a QR code that you can scan with a smart phone (using a scan app) to go directly to my blog. I also made it clear about where they can find my content, and how they can contact me.

The Blog World Conference takes place next week, June 6-8 in New York City. It's three packed days of new media training, learning, vending and things of the like. I've been dying to go to this conference for the past couple of years, and you better believe I'll be taking CRAZY notes when I go. Here are 5 reasons why you shouldn't miss it either!

Top Names I've been learning about the blogging ndustry for about 5 years now. All of the biggest, most recognizable names in blogging will speaking at this event. That's thousands of dollars in knowledge. Here's a full list of speakers.

Vendors The best products for your blog experience, all under one roof. Better cameras, hosting, etc. you name it, and it's there. Here's the full list of exhibitors.

Networking I'm not sure how many people will be there within my niche, but it sure is the perfect place to meet other people. One of the podcasters that I listened to (I can't remember his name, but he'll be speaking at BWE) said he made even bigger connections at the networking parties.

New Perspectives All it takes is one person to say something pivotal, and your way of thinking changes drastically. You'd be surprised at how much you can learn from different individuals in other niches. I've learned quite a bit by listening to fashion, marketing and photography bloggers, to name a  few.

Motivation

I don't know about you, but when I see other successful bloggers, it makes me want to step my game up even more. The people sitting around you that are taking notes are equally as eager to move things forward.
