Day 5: Brand Your Blog's Image: Favicons, Avatars--25 Days To A Better Beauty and Fashion Blog Challenge #SBBC / by Erin Baynham

This post is part of the Scandalous Beauty 25 Days To A Better Beauty And Fashion Blog Challenge! For even more tips, be sure to check out Erin's Guide to Better Beauty Blogging. Your avatar and favicon are images that represent you and your blog! These are the small details that really make your brand polished.

Favicon: The is the small image that pops up on the toolbar next to your website name. It also shows up when people bookmark your site. My favicon is my blog's initials, SB. This isn't one of the most important things to do, but it's a great idea. Check out other sites like Coco & Creme, Vibe Vixen and  Nars Cosmetics. To create one, try this favicon generator, it'll do the trick.

Avatar: When you comment on other people's blogs, there is usually a place for your profile picture to pop up. This is the perfect place to put a 'face with a name', even if you decide not to use your own face. This makes your post stand out because it makes it personal. Take advantage of this! There are lots of ways to register, but the easiest way is to go to gravatar.com. You can register multiple pictures and email addresses, all for free.

Assignment: Sign up for gravatar. You'll be surprised how often it will be used!

Tomorrow's post is all about your archives! This is how readers can find everything you've published. This is overlooked, but can increase your page views like crazy.
