Day 10: Make It Easy For Readers to Share (Sneeze) Your Content–25 Days To A Better Beauty and Fashion Blog Challenge #SBBC

This post is part of the Scandalous Beauty 25 Days To A Better Beauty And Fashion Blog Challenge! For even more tips, be sure to check out Erin’s Guide to Better Beauty Blogging.

Here’s one of those oh-so-vital blog essentials. Word-of-mouth is still one of the most valuable tools in reaching people. The virutal equivalant is being able to send your superb article to others, with a quick click of a button. You spend time creating content for your space on the internet, and only those who you send it to, or those who stumble upon it  know it’s there. Your goal is to make is easy for your readers to send it to others who might find it interesting.

I use Shareoholic, which I do like, but it’s a bit loud for me. On the other hand, it can grab the reader’s attention and might make them more likely to share it. I like that it lets people share via social media, but also email and print. Mashable has a great post on 20 ways to share blog content.

Here’s the bottom line: Give your readers many chances to share (sneeze) your content to other people. It they think something is really worth reading, they might a) decide to share it with people that share common interests or b) hog the information for themselves so they can stay a step ahead.

Tomorrow, we’ll discuss creating a blog schedule. We’ll figure out ways to time when certain posts should go up, and how far in advance you can create content.
