30 Day Youtube Challenge! Who’s Game?

July is going to be a fun month, so why not spice up our Youtube channels with something different? I’ve been in a video slump all year, and it would be fun to do something other than a regular old tutorial! I’m proposing that we post a new video every day for 30 days. It won’t just discuss makeup, but will go into other beauty and lifestyle topics. I’m basically going to snag questions from various other tags, and compile them into a 30 day list. These don’t need to be 15 minute videos, often times a 3-4 minute video will suffice. Here’s a list of a few possible topics:

  • Makeup I Want to Try
  • Favorite Lip Glosses
  • Favorite Eye Shadows
  • Beauty Trends You Hate
  • Favorite Shoes
  • Accessories You Can’t Live Without
  • Money Saving Tips
  • Pet Peeves

If you have any ideas, feel free to comment!

Updated: MAC Semi Precious Eye Shadow — Loads of Pics, Swatches and Review

Anytime MAC creates Mineralize products, it’s almost always worth it to have them.  They are always way better than the tradtional shadows! This go round, MAC has created a collection of shadows, glosses, lipsticks and brushes that are sure to add sparkle to your look. Anywho, onto the swatches! As you can see, they are nice when swatched dry, but wet…they are perfection!!! This collection will be available on July 7th, 2011, and the shadows retail for $20 USD.

Summer Beauty: DIY Tinted Moisturizer

In the Summer, I refuse to wear a lot on my face. Brands like Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier are known to sell some of the best tinted moisturizers on the market. I opt for a tinted moisturizer, which I make myself. I take a dollop of my daily moisturizer (which happens to be something from Mario Badescu) and Make Up For Ever Face & Body foundation. You can use any foundation and moisturizer that you happen to have. I put them on the back of my hand, mix with a foundation brush, and apply.  The result is a light coverage that just gives a tint of coverage.  If you want more coverage, just add more foundation.

Erin’s Favorite Things This Week

1. Gilt Taste

Take the sample sale element from sites like Gilt, Hautelook and Ideeli, but sell gourmet food! My list includes the Olive oil/vinegar sets and perhaps some mushrooms.

2. Net-A-Porter Blogger Special
Lots of hot finds for the world, plus the blogger power list! Good fun!

3. Too Faced Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue

I tested it yesterday using my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural powder as a shadow. When I got home, it was definitely still there! Today, I’m going to use a more exciting color and see what the outcome is.

4. Cargo Cosmetics Lipglosses

I forgot how much I loved these glosses! When your a makeup blogger, it’s easy to forget about the good stuff because you’re experimenting with the new still. I’ll be wearing Oceania tonight.

Summertime Time is Bronzer Time! Tutorials Included!

In my opinion, Summer makeup equals bronzer and more bronzer. Of course, bronzer can be worn all year, but now is the time for glow! I’ll be sticking to a few of my favorite products, like Cover Girl Queen Natural Hue Mineral Bronzer [swatches] and MAC Warm Blend Mineralize Skin Finish [video below]. I own 6 or 7 bronzers, but these seem to be the best of the bunch.  I like these because they aren’t glitter bombs, and a little color goes a really long way.
