Delish: Smokey Sweet Chicken Wings and Sauteed String Beans

As part of the Urban Scandal series, I’d love to introduce you to one of my favorite things to do: Cook.  I’ve loved it since I was a kid.  I remember thinking my Easy Bake Oven was child’s play when I was 8.  I would cook a fresh meal every night if I could.  Around 2 am last night, I attempted to master Pico De Gallo.

Tonight’s meal includes Smokey Sweet Chicken Wings, which I found on the Steamy Kitchen.  This is my second time making the wings, and my family loves them.  I like my wings “hard”, so I bake them for an extra 20 minutes, then broil them for a minute or two on each side.  I also added an extra half cup of brown sugar and a bit more of the seasonings. MAC Prêt-à-Papier Collection

Prêt-à-Papier’s concept is so crafty and chic.  Kind of like Jo-Ann fabrics meets chic.  I can’t say it’s a collection worth running to the stores for, because I fell like many of these products are nothing particularly special. We’ve probably all tried C-Thru Lipglass and Groundwork Paint Pot at one time or another. There is one product, however, that has me leaping for joy!!!

Iman Cosmetics Luxury Radiance Liquid Makeup Enriched with Minerals

I’ve talked over and over about my interest in mineral makeup. I don’t have one. I never really knew what the advantage was, and honestly didn’t care. While so many people asked me to review the brands, I declined. Out of nowhere, Iman came through with her Luxury Radiance Liquid Makeup Enriched with Minerals ($15). It’s available in 8 shades. It includes Acai, Magnolia and Vitamin E.

The post that I did on my foundation for blogging won me a trip to meet Iman in NYC!  I was joined by fellow bloggers Brittany of Clumps of Mascara and Tracey of Blinging Beauty.  It was definitely an exciting few days of sightseeing, eating and beauty blogging.  Above is the result of my mini-makeover.  My artist used Mineral Makeup in Earth 3, and Afterglow bronzer.  He also used Tan lip liner and a Edgy Lip Shine. By the time I took the picture, I had devoured two slices of pizza, a breadstick and a coke, sorry, no lip gloss shots. I’ve been editing a documentary on my experience for a few days now, so I’ll leave all of the juice for that day.  Nevertheless, my skin looked super natural, glowly and gorge.  If you want to try Iman foundations but have no clue what shade you are, try Meet Your Match!  Just find the shade you wear in another brand, and you’ll receive instant results for your corresponding Iman shade. Thank God For Starbucks

I’m in NYC for the next couple of days on a mission. I’ll deliver the scoop soon.  I’m in an awesome hotel, sexy for sure. But…no wi-fi.  Well, there’s no free wi-fi.  There’s $13.95 a day wi-fi.  Guess who’s not paying it! Luckily, there’s a Starbucks about four blocks away.  I’ve got “corporate” guys looking over my shoulder, wondering the hell I’m doing on the lower East side. The man to my left was basically scrolling down my twitterfeed! WTF?

By the way…You’d be surprised by how many people spell my name “Aaron”. It’s as if that spelling is the default, and NO ONE knows that it’s usually for men. Whatever. As long as my Caramel Macchiato tastes good!
